Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
Each year, more than 40,000 hours are donated to Crouse Hospital by hundreds of volunteers. The reasons they volunteer are as varied as the people themselves. They volunteer to stay active or make a contribution to our community, to explore career options or gain experience, and to socialize and meet new people. The ages and experience levels range from high school or higher education students exploring (or preparing for) a career in healthcare, professionals or community volunteers who want to make a contribution to Crouse, and retirees interested in putting their time and skills to good use. In addition to these rewards, there are more tangible benefits to volunteering at Crouse Hospital: free parking in the hospital garage, a cafeteria voucher and hospital and pharmacy discounts.

Volunteer positions vary and include dozens of different departments, from the typical patient care (infant to adult) role, to unique volunteer opportunities based on the talent or experience the volunteer brings. Typically, the positions fall into one of three categories: patient care, medical technology or office management. There are always positions available, so anyone interested should request an application, which is the first step to learning more. An informational interview will give both the candidate and our director of volunteers an idea of the placement possibilities. There are also medical requirements, which are explained on the application.

Many Crouse Hospital volunteers have been loyal for years or many thousands of hours, and some volunteer several days a week (an indication that Crouse is a good place to volunteer, where each contribution is valued--300 people and 40,000 hours is pretty strong testimony).
